I will strive to get a bunch of great family shots and if we have time we will get some individual shots as well. Two of the mini-session packages also include cards....some of the FABULOUS ones below.
Full Sessions-These are for those of you that have not had pictures taken in awhile.

Thursday 9th, 16th, 23rd
Saturday 11th, 18th, 25th (Saturday sessions are an additional $100)
During the months of November and December I will only be doing maternity and newborn sessions so that I can have some time with my family. If you are expecting please email me for more information and to schedule a date. At this time of year it is very hard to squeeze newborns in so the sooner you call the better.
Once you book your session I will send you a guide of what to wear. Happy early holidays everyone!
Hey all...So I am getting ready to release my holiday sessions...I am so excited...I have some fun things in store for families this year. I am SO in love with the cards this year...they are so fun and playful. I have some more classic styles coming as well too.
This paired up with a linen, watercolor, and pearl finish will truly make it SO exciting to send out your cards this year! I am such a fan of holiday cards and got a huge response to my custom cards last year...it was so fun to hear all the rave reviews!
SO without further adieu....here are just SOME of the many cards that I will have this year. The colors on these can be changed as well. I also will have custom card templates in other sizes as well...or for $25 you can have a card completely customized for you. I will have about 20-30 cards total to choose from and you will be able to see all of the designs on my website!
These cards are what I am offering in my mini-session packages. They are 5x7 flip cards...I can't wait to see them filled with your pictures and printed out...
CUTE...huh! I seriously am SO excited to see these filled with pictures and printed!
I will announce the dates/times for holiday sessions later today...I am emailing my clients first to give them first dibs on the dates!
I am putting the finishing touches on the holiday sessions.
There will be mini-sessions in Sept, full sessions in Oct., and I even have some Saturday sessions too.
So stay-tuned for more details if you are wanting to book a session.
These went SO fast last year. If you would like to be on the email newsletter please email me at sarahgoodmanphotography@gmail.com.
My email list will see the dates first before the blog so this is the quickest way to get a heads up.
oh...and one more thing... I will be on vacation all next week and email may be a little sketchy...just letting you know!
So while I had little Miss Daniella over for the WHITE COUCH mini-sessions, I also got to photograph the Kesti Girls.
Kim Kesti is super good friend of mine. Her blog is www.kimberlykesti.typepad.com
My link thingy isn't working so posting a link is really beasty. Anywho...I met Kim a number of years(i think like 5 or 6 years ago) while I was the emcee for the AZ Scrapbooking Convention. I walked past her table....which she was sharing with her cutie-patootie red headed daughter and gasped at the AMAZING layouts she was putting out. You see during this time the scrapbook trend was to make everything look really old...Rebecca Sower was totally in and everyone was copying her. Well..Kim was totally opposite...her stuff was fresh and hip and she used bright colors and I WAS in heaven. I asked her if she had ever submitted anything to the magazines...she said "no"....and well the rest is history. I told her she HAD to start submitting and she started winning all kinds of awards...it was so awesome. She started submitting and eventually became a Hall of Famer for Creating Keepsakes. She is now a Paper Crafts Magazine pro and submits to that magazine frequently. She also travels all over the country teaching classes at the Creating Keepsakes Conventions. You should check out her work....it always makes me smile. And did I mention that Kimmers has 8 KIDS! yeah...she does and I got to photograph her girlies...they were so sweet...I have oodles of images coming at ya!
This is her first girl...Miss Megan...she is such a kind thing and so very talented as well. She is studying photography in college and I can't wait to see where she takes her talented self. I think she looks so much like her momma! This next picture just totally makes me giggle...seriously giggle....
Laughter is so contagious and I am always smiling while I am around the Kesti girls. This sweet girlie brought one of her fav photography books for us to use as a prop...i LOVE these next couple of shots of her.
oh and I guess I should mention that I found the AWESOMEST orange chair at a garage sale this summer up in Show Low...my oldest son got quite attached to it and I was determined not to bring anything home from the garage sale....but this beautiful chair made it into my living room and WE LOVE it now. I got it for $5 and BEGGED the Kesti girls to stay a little longer with me so I could try out my orange chair with their luscious orange/red hair...i am so in love!
And then we have little sis...Clara...she is a beauty too....
and I seriously LOVE this next shot...Clara's hair is the same color as the chickens....
Next up is Miss Sophia...she is so silly and I loved her expressions...she definitely has her smile down...or what I call the "gorgeous duh look". :)
Don't worry...I have oodles more of this girlie...but I wanted to get to the youngest Kesti...Miss Eloise. She is six months....isn't she a doll baby....
So I have two more little people to show you that came to my white couch sessions. Which...I will be doing those again...they were so much fun! So check back soon...
I went on vacation and figured that I would have loads of time to blog and frankly we were pretty much gone for 3 weeks and then school started and shoots in between and this poor blog has been neglected. So sad. Thanks to all the kind blog stalkers reminding me to post. :)
I am just going to post a couple images...but i promise to post more soon....I have SO much to post...seriously....so much...aahhh. This little girlie just turned one! Isn't she a cutie with her cheerios. She came over for one of my white couch sessions.
Her momma is so beautiful...I couldn't resist posting this one...little Daniella is such a sweet momma's girl...
i have oodles more to post...but those may have to wait until the morning! oh...and i am wondering if you notice anything different about these images...if you do...leave it in the comment section....you may have to look at the images bigger to see the difference.
ciao!
Hey everyone...if you didn't get a chance to see the segment on Sonoran Living LIVE yesterday you can check it out at
http://www.sonoranliving.com if you missed it! Do a search for Sarah Goodman and I will come up and you can watch the segment. I have been trying for over an hour to post a link and frankly I am SO sick and tired of typepad that I am ready to scream..I used to be able to post a link easily and now it doesn't work the same. I have read all kinds of help things to learn it and frankly I am done....sorry about the rant! The video is fun to watch though!
I had a TOTAL blast doing the show. And the funniest part was when i walked in and Stephanie and I were twinners and wearing the SAME outfit...just different colors! And then they showed another outfit on the show and I had bought the same jacket to possibly wear as well...silly huh! Thanks for all the sweet comments and emails about the show...it is so nice to have such a fun group of friends and peeps! And super big kudos to my buddy Tara for doing my hair and makeup in the early, early morning ( we are both night owls)! She made me look super polished and my hubby is still raving about my "smokey" eyes. :0)
And thank you to Stephanie...you blog browser you...I will post pictures soon of our day together!
coming up this next week on the blog....some super cute newborn shoots, a little red head that is the cutest thing ever...along with her green eyed brother, and a new little model that pulled at my heartstrings...this little cookie is sure to be in the movies some day! So stop back by soon! K!
Hey all you Sonoran LIVING live watchers and regular readers…thanks for visiting my blog! So I am SUPER excited to show you some more photography tips! I absolutely LOVE photography and I LOVE to teach other’s tips and tricks to take better pictures. I truly wish that someone had given me tips when I was starting out and so I am determined to help others be the best photographer that they can be!
Okay… so there are 6 great spots that you can ALWAYS get great pictures without a flash.
#1. Open the front door…usually you won’t have direct light and the pictures by opening up a doorway are well-lit. These next two shots were taken by just opening up the front door.
#2. Take a shot in the car. You will get awesome catchlights (twinklies in the eyes…yes I call them twinklies…the kids love it). The light bounces off of the driveway and into your child’s eyes.
#3. Put your child by a window. You don’t want direct light on your child by the window, usually a north/south facing window is the best in the morning. Notice on this shot the window to the left...it lights up the subjects face and belly.
#4. Open shade works wonders to find “twinklies”. You can find open shade under a tree outside during a bright day. Face your subject towards the sun but in the shade. More than likely your back will be in the sun while photographing them. In this next image my son is under a sun umbrella eating lunch near the beach. There is light behind him but the light from the table bounces up into his face.
This next image was taken in the shade of a tree on the edge of the light.
#5. A garage is ONE OF THE BEST places to photograph a child/dog/anything! SERIOUSLY…this is a huge secret of many photographers. Open your garage and gorgeous light will spill in. Throw up a sheet and put your kids on a chair you can get some really cute shots. Now…you want to put your kids in the shade on the edge of the light! This is the best place….make sure you clear the clutter or put up something so you aren’t photographing your child with junk in the back. ☺
#6. Under a patio is so fabulous for photos too…especially a patio with two sides that have light. You can get really “sweet” light on a patio because you get the light from both sides and reflective light from the concrete.
Here is a patio shot....check out the awesome catchlights by clicking on the image to see it bigger...
Bookmark this blog so you can come back tomorrow to see some more eye candy and get some more photography tips! Also...I will be attaching pictures to all of these examples shortly. And if you have questions….leave them in the comments section and I will try to address them! Have a SUPER day and pull out that camera to try out these fun tips!
I have had the pleasure to photograph 4 newborns this week...what a pleasure to be amongst so many little sweet spirits! I was with 2 boys and 2 girls(twinners).
I have lots of images to post about them...but I am out of time...I am getting ready to go shopping for some exciting news....coming soon!
So check out baby aerobics....
This just totally made me GIGGLE!
And now for my EXCITING news!
Are you ready?
REALLY ready?
Then go and grab your remote for your TV?
Did you do it...come on...go and get it....seriously...
Okay....now you need to set your TIVO to the Sonoran LIVING show on Thursday (the 26th) morning at 9am on Channel ABC 15.
You are probably wondering why you need to do this...well...because I am going to be teaching 4 ways to take better VACATION pictures on the show!
So check me out next Thursday!
I am really excited. The host...Stephanie Sandoval is SUCH a fun person (and a total blog stalker) and so I am excited to hang out with her and for a chance to teach many moms how truly great it is to be able to record our memories. I really want for people to be able to record their memories better by getting better pictures from their cameras.
Okay...gotta go figure out what to wear!
So Mr. C is so uber ticklish and LOVED playing on my Wii while his sister got her pictures taken. Who knew that he would get so friendly with the chicken and tortoise...what an animal lover!
And sister....well....this little cutie let me put piggies in her hair....so fun for me...
For all you photo geeks...the above pic is done at f1.2!
